If you consider only the forward position of the bench and move it to support you, the bench may restrict the movement of the feet. The feet must be able to pass freely in front of and behind one another, and the toes should dangle just clear of the sharp keys when the legs are relaxed. This may require a compromise, moving the bench forward just far enough to support you, yet back far enough that the feet can move freely.
Remember to make this adjustment of the bench without changing the forward-back position of your body in relation to the console. The position of your body has all ready been established, and for the most part, the bench must be placed so that it will support the body and legs in that established position.
