In General

11. If the CRESCENDO PEDAL or the SFORZANDO (TUTTI) REVERSIBLE have been regulated properly, use them when appropriate. If not, either have them regulated until they are useful or avoid using them.

The order in which the stops appear when the crescendo pedal is opened is often adjustable by an organ technician. If you feel that the order is not right, that the changes are too abrupt, or that the fully-open crescendo pedal is too shrill, contact your technician and find out if adjustments can be made.

The same is true for the sforzando reversible (“Tutti”). The organ's “Sforzando” does not have to be shrill or deafening. Offensive stops can usually be eliminated from the sforzando reversible. It should sound slightly louder or fuller than the fully-open crescendo pedal.
