Five Factors
When faced with a piece of music or a section, we must make some decisions regarding touch:
- What will be the BASIC TOUCH?
- If legato is chosen, how much time will be taken between REPEATED NOTES?
- If not legato (non-legato or staccato), how much time will be taken between the notes ORDINARILY, whether or not they are repeated?
