3. BUILD LOCATION TECHNIQUES INTO YOUR PLAN

Whenever possible, plan pedaling that accomplishes one or more of the following:

  • IT ALLOWS FOR CONTACT between the feet (heel-to-heel or heel-to-arch) to assist in locating notes separated by the intervals of a second, third, or fourth.
  • IT ESTABLISHES A PATH that can be followed easily by each individual foot.
  • For locating certain keys, IT RELIES ON THE GAPS ONLY WHEN ADEQUATE TIME IS AVAILABLE.
