2. TOES: TIP (ROCK) THE FOOT INSIDE AND PLAY ON THE BALL OF THE FOOT
Just as we tip or rock inward when playing sharps, we do the same when playing naturals except that we can play on the ball of the foot (see below).
When playing on naturals, you can make the same exception to playing on the inside of the foot as when playing on sharps. When the left foot plays the highest pedal keys and when the right foot plays the lowest keys, you may want to tip that foot to the OUTSIDE.
The main point: Do not play flat-footed. Playing as described above will prevent many unnecessary note errors.
