The Finished Score

When completed, the finished score will be prepared for performance. A plan for page turns will have been prepared, and markings will indicate:

• ideas from the TEXT
• textual and musical PHRASING
• note modifications (REPEATED NOTE TREATMENT)
• FINGERING AND PEDALING
• REGISTRATION

This will lead to consistent practice, promoting security for performance in both the immediate and distant future. You will be able to perform confidently with fewer marks as your skills increase, but remember to use whatever marks are necessary for a secure, musical performance.

Remember that color-coding is not necessarily recommended for your score.
